My cheeky kiddies Pt. 1

A little over five years ago, the biggest drama queen of the century arrived in this world. Her name, Haylee Grace. She was my perfect 9lb 4 oz, baby girl, and I couldn't have been happier.
Haylee's birth was rather traumatic. She ended up with shoulder dystocia and Erbs Palsy. Erbs Palsy, is when the nerves in the arm are stretched or severed. Some kids will recover. Some never will. Hay was that never did.

She has had two surgeries. The first one, they removed nerves in her right leg, and placed them in her left arm. It didn't work. Then, this past July, they did a different surgery. They lengthened a muscle, and released some muscles/tendons in her arm. The change has been huge. She has so much more movement now than ever! I know she will never be 100% with that arm, but she will have more than what she did.
Hay has been very lucky with all the therapists she has had. They all have been wonderful. Her therapist now, Amy, is probably one of her favorite ones. She looks forward to going to see Miss Amy every week and talks about her through out the rest of the week.
All in all though, no matter how much of a drama queen, rotten, kiddie she can be, she is perfect in my eyes. Her attitude and personality will definitely take her far in life.

Monsters, Movies, and Giveaways! Oh, My!

Friday, they are re-releasing Beauty and the Beast in theaters again. To say I'm excited is an understatement!
It first came out in 1991. I was five years old at the time. I have very fond memories of my mom and dad taking me to watch it. It was a dream come true for a little girl! For my birthday a few months later, I even had a Beauty and the Beast birthday cake! To this day, it is still my favorite princess Disney movie, followed only by The Little Mermaid.
My oldest daughter is five right now, and with the re-release, I can't wait to take her to watch it with me. It's sentimental to me, knowing that twenty years ago, that little girl was me. And the fact that Hay's favorite princess is Belle, well, it makes it just that much better!
So, with all that said, let's get to this weeks giveaway. This week, I am offering another monster up for grabs. I really want to get this new line of monsters out there. But, not only am I offering the monster, I am also offering 40% off your entire order, when you order off my Etsy shop!
It's easy to enter! Just leave a comment on this blog! There are also ways to get extra entries!!

  • 1 Entry-- Leave a comment on this blog
  • 2 Entries-- Share this blog on Facebook
  • 2 Entries-- Link back to this post on your blog
Make sure that if you do the extra entries, to let me know in your comment below, so I have the correct amount of entries! Thanks, and good luck!

Just a few more hours

Just a few more hours left of my very first giveaway.  I haven't had a lot of comments, but I'm pleased with what I have had! I know it is going to take some time before my name really gets out and things take off. My hope is to make my shop my income. I would love to be able to continue to stay home with my kids and do something I enjoy!

Starting out

Since I was a small girl, I always wanted to learn to crochet. I would sit and watch my mom, and I would ask her at least a few times a year to teach me. Every time, she would give me a hook and some yarn and attempt to teach me. I never got it. It wasn't until my second pregnancy, my twins, that I decided I wanted to learn for real this time. Except, instead of crochet, I wanted to try my hand at knitting.
Knitting and I did not get along well. It took my entire pregnancy, 36 weeks, to finish one simple scarf. That is 252 days. Really. For a scarf. So, I decided it was time to try crocheting again. And this time, I actually wanted to learn. All those other times, I wanted to do it, but just didn't have the attention for it.
So, at twenty-two years old, I finally learned how to crochet, and I fell in love instantly. It soothes me. It lets me be creative if I want, or structured and following a pattern. Whatever I feel like that day, I can do.
My hope for this blog is to share patterns that I love, items I've made, and showcase other people's work also. Hope to "see" you back!
